Giant trees

According to Einstein’s theory
particularly massive objects
warp the fabric of space-time

I could sense this when I walked
in Yosemite Park Giant Sequoias’ grove

The atmosphere was distinct from anywhere else:
the air changed; its density lightened
by the mass of the trees’ huge bodies

Time didn’t exist anymore
cause my time-scale was irrelevant
as was the scale of my being
so diminished next to their height

Deep in the grove
some clearings felt enchanted
with wild flowers and birds silent
suddenly turned shy by the giants
